Independence Community Outreach

On Uganda Independence Day, our children actively contributed to community cleanliness, reaching out to uplift and beautify their surroundings.

Pupils, teachers and volunteers gathered early in the morning, collecting litter along the roadsides, clearing drainage channels and tidying shared spaces used by families in the area.

The initiative provided valuable opportunities for students to learn about the world beyond their immediate environment, and to understand that citizenship is expressed through service, not only celebration.

Community members joined in as the morning went on. What started as a school activity became a neighbourhood effort, ending with songs, prayer and a shared meal.

Our pupils returned to class the following week with a new sense of ownership over their community, and a clear lesson that they are not too young to make their surroundings better.
